In 2022, The Liberation Foundation continued to connect individuals claiming wrongful conviction with legal support through Project RIC, enrolled over 160 participants in the Project HOPE reentry program, and served as a hub for students, formerly incarcerated individuals, and Philadelphia activists to advocate for criminal justice reform. 2021 was a significant year for the Foundation. We successfully aided in the release of Jehmar Gladden, who was incarcerated for over 24 years. TLF also launched Project HOPE, a pre-entry initiative that prepares returning citizens with the tools needed for a successful transition home. The Foundation was also the recipient of multiple grants and awards, including the University of Pennsylvania Class of 2021 President's Engagement Prize, the MacArthur Justice Challenge Award, the Davis Projects for Peace Grant, and the Community Reinvestment Fund Grant.
